Hilarious!
I found this site on my sister-in-laws blog and decided to see what all the buzz was about.....an hour later I decided the site was worth posting about. It is hilarious! I especially like this post. This one is amazing too! Hope you enjoy!

Thankful Thursday
One of David's cousins does "Thankful Thursdays" on her blog. Every Thursday she writes about the things she is thankful for. Well, today I have a lot to be thankful for so I thought I'd write my own "Thankful Thursday."
Today I am so thankful that I have a wonderful husband. It was one year ago today that David asked me to be his wife. In the middle of Borders Bookstore (I know, I'm such a nerd!), he knelt on one knee and proposed. It was perfect!
I have never been happier than when I am with David. He always has such a positive attitude, works so hard, and tries unceasingly to make me smile. I couldn't live without my handsome husband!

I also have to mention how thankful I am for my father. I'm thinking of him today because it's his birthday. Even though I can't be with him, I wanted everyone to know how grateful I am to have been raised with a wonderful father (and mother) and to have learned the things he has taught me. He is the greatest examplar I have ever met. Hopefully I can grow to be like him.
Today I am thankful for my husband and my father. I can't wait until the two most important men in my life can meet. It is the day I look forward to most!!!

New Car!!!
David and I just bought a new car! Because David's car is a manual (which I cannot drive) and only a small 2-door coup, we decided to sell his car and get a larger, automatic car that we can eventually fit a family into. We ended up buying a 2004 Mazda3 Hatchback (pictures below). We basically got the best deal of the century and will definitely be returning to Anchor Auto Sales in Raleigh the next time we need a car. We are so very happy with the car and the dealer!

Family
This past week I had the wonderful opportunity of having my sister, Kimber, and her family come visit me. This was the first time any of my family has come to North Carolina since I moved here so it was great to finally show some of my family where I'm living, going to school, working, etc.
After numerous delays and long flights, Kimber and her family made it to Greensboro Tuesday night. As you can tell, they were all extremely tired!

(I guess the green, Alien-looking man is supposed to be a grasshopper?!)

I never noticed that the bars on the gate are baseball bats!

All in all, the visit was wonderful and I can't wait for more of my family to come to visit us! (hint, hint!)

While they were here we showed them around the UNCG campus as well as downtown Greensboro. We stopped at the Grasshoppers baseball stadium and took some pictures.
We also went to the arboretum and played at the playground. The kids loved it! I'm so grateful to live so close to a park!
If you are a member of my family, this picture only needs one word to describe it...ZELIARD!

Me and Gracie had a little date and went to Cold Stone to visit David. Gracelyn loved her cotton candy ice cream but couldn't quite figure out how her cone was made of a waffle! ;)

We also went to the Greensboro Historical Museum. They have a really kids-friendly exhibit right now that the kids enjoyed.

Caroline
Last week I watched my nephew and niece, Jackson and Caroline, while Courtney had a doctor's appointment. I got Caroline laughing and had to video it because her laugh is so funny! (Sorry that my phone is ringing in the background)

Florida for New Year's
David and I spent New Year's in Florida with his dad, step-mom, grandparents, and sister's family. I had never been to Florida so I was very excited. We had such a wonderful time with David's family and enjoyed just being able to relax for the first time in a long while. We also did some fun things while we were there.
One day we went to the beach. Jackson absolutely loved the water...and being naked!

David also has some other family that lives in Florida so one night we went to visit them. I had never met them so I had a nice time meeting and talking with them. David's step-mom, Diane, brought over her enormous dogs. I tried to take some pictures to show you how gigantic they are. No wonder Jackson calls them cows!

Our last morning in Florida we went for a boat tour around some of the nearby lakes. Caroline loved wearing her own life jacket...
and eating it too!!!

The following video is us going through a canal on our boat tour. The video is sideways. sorry!
After the boat tour we went to Downtown Disney which lies just outside of Disneyworld and consists of shops and restaurants. We mainly just walked around but I was glad I got to experience at least a small part of Florida Disney.

Inside Downtown Disney is a huge section just devoted to legos. Here are some pictures of the amazing things people had made completely out of legos!
I took this picture for my dad because every time my family goes to New York my dad always asks us if we can see King Kong on top of the Empire State Building.
We all went to dinner before we left for home. (Courtney's husband Cameron didn't fit in the picture...sorry!).

The restaurant we went to was a pizza place and their seating was named after baseball teams. As luck would have it, they made us sit at the Red Sox table! I was horrified!

And, fittingly, the Red Sox table sits right across from the (far superior) Yankee table.
As we were eating, we suddenly realized that Jackson had become very quiet while eating his pizza. We found him asleep with a piece of pizza still in his hand. So adorable!

Here's Caroline, my newest niece, out on the beach with her grandad. She was pretty happy too even though she had a cold the whole time we were in Florida.
The beach we went to was neat because you could drive your cars right up onto the beach! Here's a picture of our three-car caravan!
